Sewage sludge, suspensions from industrial waste water treatment and pre-dewatered biosolids are usually problematic or dangerous substances. Therefore, our prior aim is to reduce their volume and therewith reduce the utilization or transport costs. The different technologies of Klein Technical Solutions, as e.g. thickening, dewatering and drying, reduce the moisture content from more than 99% to less than 10 %.
These materials form an attractive combustible after the drying process because of their high organic content.
The dried biosolids are sanitized, practically dust-free and easily storable. Further advantages of the drying are further treatment possibilities, like e.g. incineration and gasification.
Thickening

Thickening is used for the solid / liquid separation of sludge and other suspensions from wastewater treatment. In industrial processes, the thickening with the Gravity-Belt-Thickener BGT is used for the filtration of suspensions. The filtrate is practically clear and free of particles.

Sewage Sludge Drying with the Low-Temperature-Dryer: economical and future-proof!
Sewage sludge should be dried to reduce problems of storage and transport. The dried biosolids have a heating value of 9 to 13 MJ/kg which corresponds to half of the heating value of black coal. This energy can be used for the co-incineration in coal power stations, waste incineration plants and in cement or ceramic industries.

Biomass Drying has special requirements on drying technologies. In Germany for example, it requires the utilization of waste heat at temperatures of approx. 80 – 90°C to be economical.
